My Story
My fitness journey began when I was 16 years old and overweight. I realised I needed to make a change, so I decided to sign up to a gym and start a fitness programme - and this is where I fell in love with training and all the elements surrounding it, such as; nutrition and mindset.
After having transformed the way I looked, I decided that I wanted to help other individuals similar to me and so this led to me becoming a personal trainer and launching Daniel Long Fitness. Since then, I have developed a true passion for helping clients transform the way they look and reach their desired goals - both online and in person - which in turn, has helped them to regain their confidence and feel better about themselves.
I have trained people from all different walks of life; new mums, body builders, stroke victims, pro athletes, dementia patients, celebrities and more!
I specialise in body transformations for the over 30's, working with individuals to achieve their fitness goals, using a sustainable and healthy approach. My years of experience has enabled me to know what works and what doesn't work. Unfortunately in the fitness world today, I see a lot of 'get fit quick' programmes, which promise to have you lean and in the best shape you have ever been in - in 2/4 weeks or less. These programmes ARE NOT sustainable. This is why I believe in sustainable fitness, that guarantees results after a realistic period of time, and then when that programme is over, you will have the knowledge & know-how to keep your results!
This can all be achieved in 1-1 personal training sessions or remotely through my online coaching platform.
I've experienced more lows than highs throughout my fitness journey - but I haven't regretted a thing, and I continue to push myself to new levels with every training session!
SO WHY AM I THE COACH FOR YOU?
My aim is to work around you and your lifestyle. One single approach does not work for everyone. we are all different. that is why I ensure that I build programmes tailored to you individually that will help you to achieve your dream physique.

Starting a fitness regime can be daunting, especially with such a choice of all the fitness trainers and programmes that are currently out there. When I first started training, I was constantly changing programmes, as I believed I found “the next best thing” that would get me results. I learned the hard way. This approach DOES NOT work.
My previous experiences have enabled me to know which approach’s work and which approach’s do not. I am a firm believer that a training programme must be customised to the individual and their individual goals. I am also a believer of working together. I believe that for you to grow as an individual, you need to learn. I don’t want to be a trainer who just tells you what to do. I want my clients to engage with me to learn what we are doing and why we are doing certain things.
This approach ensures that you have the knowledge to keep the results you have worked so hard for!
I am a big advocate of applying a sustainable approach that works around you. I personally believe that the worst thing for someone (who is not experienced) to do is go all out with their training plan - when they have started from nothing - to training 5-6 times a week. This is a recipe for disaster and will ultimately lead to you becoming burnt out, which can put you off training for life! This is why I take a slower approach, whilst still ensuring you are working to your maximum potential.
